James Leaton is a SVP - Environment, Social & Governance. In this capacity, James leads the development of carbon transition analysis of companies in high impact sectors. James brings expertise across environmental issues, especially climate change risk, which he applies to the integration of environmental risk into credit analysis.
Prior to joining Moody’s. James was previously Research Director at Carbon Tracker - a boutique research house - where he led a team producing thematic energy research combining elements of climate change scenarios with financial analysis. James was lead author of a series of research which sparked investor interest in the concept of stranded assets, and led to a number of investor initiatives on carbon asset risk. James also advised blue-chip clients on climate change and sustainability strategy whilst a consultant at PwC and was a senior policy advisor at WWF, focusing on the biodiversity impact of extractive industries.
James holds a Masters degree in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, University of London.
Robard Williams is a Senior Vice President in Moody’s Credit Strategy and Standards Group, where he conducts research on a variety of areas – ranging from technology &innovation to demographics & financial services – that have the potential to influence creditworthiness across sectors and geographies. Robard joined Moody’s in 2012 as a Vice President in the Global Financial Institutions Group Research Team, with responsibility for monitoring and analyzing financial market developments that impact the creditworthiness of Moody’s-rated banks and securities firms. Prior to joining Moody’s, Robard spent 12 years at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he worked in the Bank Supervision Group, managing a team with responsibility for identifying emergent risks to financial system stability. Robard holds a Master’s Degree in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University and bachelor’s degree from Haverford College, Pennsylvania. |
Swami Venkataraman, CFA, is an Associate Managing Director in Moody’s Environmental, Social and Governance group. He manages a team of analysts responsible for the development of ESG analytic tools, assessments and the integration of ESG considerations into Moody’s credit ratings and research. He is the primary spokesperson for Moody’s Investors Service on ESG and sustainable finance with regulators and investors. Before moving to the ESG team, Swami was a lead analyst in the North American utilities and infrastructure team, with rating committee chair responsibilities. Prior to Moody’s, he was a project and export finance banker with Standard Chartered bank in Asia.
Swami has broad credit and banking expertise in the power, clean energy and infrastructure sectors over the past 20 years. He has worked in New York, San Francisco, London, Mumbai and Mexico City. Swami is a CFA charter holder, with a B.Tech in Electronics Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras and an M.B.A. in finance from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM),Calcutta.
Ram Sri is a Vice President – Senior Analyst, within Moody’s ESG team. He is the lead author of Moody’s latest water report “Credit effect of water management risks to rise amid higher demand, climate change”. He leads the global effort on the integration of water risk and water management considerations into analysis, ratings, and research. Ram has authored Moody’s global environmental and social risks heat maps, and associated framework reports.
Ram holds an MA in Management and Strategy from Warwick Business School, and an MSc in Environmental and Analytical Chemistry form Warwick University.
Keeran joined the Vigeo group in 2011. In that time, he has worked across its Brussels, Paris and London sites operating between the methodological and product development teams to bring new solutions to market. He is a recognized public speaker on ESG topics representing the Moody’s ESG Solutions Group at United Nations, Responsible Investor, Financial Times and Reuters forums. Today, he is responsible for marketing and engagement strategy for the groups’ Sustainable Finance and ESG products. Keeran has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Manchester and a Masters in International Security from the University of Sussex.
Michael Eberhardt, CFA, Director, is head of European and Global Sustainable Credit in BlackRock's Trading and Liquidity Strategies team in London. He is responsible for credit and ESG analysis of European banks and investment grade corporate issuers. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2017, Mr. Eberhardt was a senior credit officer at Moody's Investors Service, where he was responsible for the credit ratings of UK and Swiss banks and securities firms. While at Moody's, he also rated money market funds and was co-author of Moody's methodologies on rating Clearinghouses and Money Market Funds. From 1999 to 2004, Mr. Eberhardt was with Pacific Investment Management Company trading leveraged loans for the firm's European CLOs. Mr. Eberhardt earned at BA degree in economics and psychology from Claremont McKenna College, and an MBA degree from University of California at Berkeley.
Pete is a Vice President and Head of the Cash and Structured Credit Research team at State Street Global Advisors and is a member of the firm's Senior Leadership Team. He leads a team of credit analysts who provide global research coverage of the investment-grade corporate, asset-backed markets, financial institutions including banks, broker/dealers, finance companies for short-duration/enhanced cash, securities lending reinvestment and traditional cash portfolios. In addition, the team is responsible for supporting the broader SSGA FICC department with regard to research relating to structured credit investment strategies.
Previously, Pete worked as a Senior Analyst on SSGA's Cash Credit Research team and was responsible for the credit analysis for asset-backed securities (ABS) and corporate/industrial unsecured credit. Prior to that he was a member of the Structured Products group at State Street Global Markets and was responsible for structuring and surveillance of ABS. Pete began his professional career as a Financial Analyst in the Investment Banking group at Adams, Harkness and Hill where he was responsible for executing corporate finance transactions including public equity offerings, private placements of equity securities and mergers and acquisitions.
Pete earned a BA in Economics and Political Science from Williams College in 1999and a MBA from Boston College Carroll School of Management in 2008.
Kate A Larsen is Director SupplyESChange.com Advisory on ESG of Environmental and Social (Human Rights) in Supply Chains. Kate has over 18 years experience in corporate responsibility, including 11 years living and working in China (Beijing) and Asia.
A Chinese speaker, Kate was the first Burberry Senior Manager CR Asia, Director Responsible Sourcing for a Nasdaq listed retailer (PLCE), then Principal Consultant ESG, Human Rights in ERM London advising Private Equity, other investors and MNCs.
Kate is a trainer to investors and frequent speaker on Uyghur and other forced labour and what companies should do in supply chains having dealt with many cases. She has been featured on the BBC, PRI, Federated Hermes podcast, Vogue Business, Drapers, Chartered Governance Institute for Directors conference, and more.
Kate holds an MSc Environmental Management Imperial College & SOAS, University of London, and a BA (Chinese)/BCom (Asia business) University of Auckland including studies at Wuhan University, UC Berkeley and Sophia University Tokyo via a Japan Airlines Scholarship. Kate was a Verite trained Social Auditor of labour standards.
Kimberly Stokes is a vice president and corporate engagement strategist for Calvert Research and Management, which specializes in responsible and sustainable investing across global capital markets. She is responsible for executing the firm’s engagement strategy, which seeks to improve corporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance through direct dialogue, standard-setting exercises and partnerships, and public policy. She joined Calvert Research and Management in 2019.
Kimberly began her career in the investment management industry in 1999. Before joining Calvert Research and Management, she was a senior credit analyst in the fixed-income division of T. Rowe Price, where she covered the investor-owned utilities and midstream energy sectors. Kimberly also worked as a ratings analyst in the energy group at Standard & Poor’s and as a relationship manager on the oil and gas team at the Bank of New York.
Kimberly earned a B.S. from Bowie State University and an MBA from Georgetown University. She is a member of the MOSAIC employee resource group at Eaton Vance, and serves on the boards of the University System of Maryland Foundation and Ready at Five.
