Andrea Usai Associate Managing Director, Business & Consumer Services, Corporate Finance Group Moody's Ratings

Andrea manages the Business & Consumer Services team within the North America Corporate Finance Group, where he oversees coverage of around 200 US investment and speculative grade issuers. 

Andrea joined Moody’s in 2011 and prior to his current role, he managed the North America Banks & Specialty Finance Team within the Financial Institutions Group for several years. Before moving to New York in 2018, Andrea was a lead analyst covering a portfolio of large European banks and securities firms domiciled in several European countries, both from London and Paris. In addition, he spent some time in Hong Kong where he supported local analysts on the coverage of banks and securities firms in the region. 

Prior to joining Moody’s, Andrea was a banking supervisor with the UK Financial Services Authority (FSA) for eight year. His experience at the UK financial regulator also included an industry secondment to Fidelity International in the UK, and an international secondment to the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel (ACP) Banque de France, the Paris-based French banking regulator. Andrea started his career at Banca Intesa in Italy where he worked as a private banker, as a corporate banker and he also worked as an analyst at Bloomberg Financial Markets in London. 

Andrea serves as the co-chair of the New York Pride Business Resources Group (BRG). He holds a degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Cagliari (Italy) and an MSc in International Banking and Finance from London Metropolitan University. He is a native Italian speaker and is fluent in English, French and Spanish.

Bill Foster Senior Vice President, Sovereign Risk Moody's Investors Service

William (Bill) Foster is a Senior Vice President in Moody’s Sovereign Risk Group in New York, where he currently serves as lead analyst on a portfolio of sovereign and supranational credits that include: the United States, Canada, Chile, Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Honduras and the World Bank (IBRD and IDA). He previously served as lead analyst for India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Kazakhstan. Bill is global head of Moody’s Sovereign and Sub-Sovereign Cyber Risk Working Group and lead sovereign representative to Moody’s Global Cyber Risk Working Group. He also serves as co-host of Moody’s Talks – The Big Picture podcast series.

Bill joined Moody’s in August 2016, following 10 years at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He most recently served as Senior Advisor for International Financial Markets based in New York, where he was the Office of International Affairs’ first dedicated liaison to New York’s international financial community. From August 2012 to March 2015, he served as U.S. Financial Attaché to India at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi. Bill joined Treasury’s Office of International Affairs as an international economist in 2006 and covered a wide range of geographies during his tenure, including Latin America, South and East Asia. Prior to joining Treasury, he worked as a management consultant at Accenture.

Bill holds a Master of International Affairs degree in International Financial and Economic Policy from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and a BA from Wesleyan University. He is a member of The Economic Club of New York, and has served as an Industry Advisory Board Member of Columbia Business School’s India Business Initiative and a member of SIPA’s Alumni Careers Advisory Committee.

Peter Nerby Senior Vice President, North America Banks and Securities Firms Moody's Ratings

Since joining Moody’s in November 1998, Peter Nerby has been responsible for analyzing and rating the investment banks, broker-dealers and exchanges within the U.S. securities industry. Peter is currently lead analyst covering Citigroup, Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase. Peter came to the company with more than 15 years’ of experience in corporate finance, credit, and counter party analysis. 

Prior to joining Moody’s, he led a team at Deutsche Bank that was responsible for managing the bank’s exposure to U.S. broker dealers. He also spent 12 years at JPMorgan and after completing JPM’s management training program, specialized in managing trading and derivatives counter party risk with regulated financial institutions and hedge funds.

Mr. Nerby holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. After graduation, he spent a year writing case studies on financial strategies of Canadian natural resource companies for use in the School’s graduate and undergraduate programs. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Allen Tischler Senior Vice President, North America Banks Moody's Ratings

Allen Tischler is a senior member of Moody’s North American Banking Team covering a broad portfolio of US regional banks and custody banks. He is also Moody’s lead analyst on the Federal Farm Credit Banks and a number of Federal Home Loan Banks.Allen joined the team in 1999 as an Associate Analyst.

Prior to joining Moody’s, Allen completed a Management Associate program with the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation. 

Allen holds a B.A. degree from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Warren Kornfeld Senior Vice President, Banking, Financial Institutions Moody's Ratings

Warren Kornfeld is a Senior Vice President in Moody’s Financial Institutions Group covering mortgage, credit card, student loan banks and finance companies as well as Government Sponsored Enterprises (FHLBanks, Farm Credit, Fannie and Freddie).

Prior to joining the Financial Institutions Group, Warren was a Managing Director for Structured Finance Administration overseeing key strategic initiatives and prior to that Warren co-headed the Residential Mortgage- Backed Securities (RMBS) team as well as headed up the U.S. Servicer Ratings team.

Warren joined Moody’s in 2001. Prior to Moody’s, Warren held senior investment banking positions with William Blair & Co., The Industrial Bank of Japan and Bickford & Partners focusing on a securitizations of a wide range of asset types, including residential mortgages, equipment lease, auto loan and lease, consumer assets and commercial receivables.

Warren holds a B.S. in Finance and Decision Sciences from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
