Securitisation Event

Alexander Batchvarov currently heads International Structured Finance Research at BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research, encompassing securitisation, residential and commercial real estate financing, property derivatives, covered bonds, CDOs and consumer credit in EMEA, APAC and Lat Am. He has held this position since Oct 1998, and has also served as a Head and a Co-Head of Global Mortgages and other Structured Finance between 2007 and 2010.

Mr. Batchvarov joined Merrill Lynch in 1998, he initiated and built up the research coverage for mortgages and other structured finance consecutively in Europe, Australia, Japan and the emerging markets in Asia, Middle East and Latin America. Before joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Batchvarov worked at Citibank, New York, as a Structured Finance analyst at Moody’s Securitisation team and as a Sovereign Analyst at Moody’s Sovereign Team in New York.

Mr. Batchvarov earned a MSc degree in Economics and International Economic Relations from the National Institute of Economics in Sofia, Bulgaria, a PhD in Economics from the National Academy of Sciences in Sofia, Bulgaria, and an MBA from the University of Alberta Business School, in Edmonton, Canada. He is a CFA Charterholder and a Member of AIMR and NYSSA.

Vincent Mahieu is the Head of Energy Efficiency & Regulatory Technology at Hypoport. This team is responsible for following the developments of (inter)national regulation(s) and employing data driven technology solutions. At Hypoport he has participated in numerous securitisation and covered bond implementation projects for clients in both Europe and Asia. On behalf of Hypoport, Vincent was involved in the EeDaPP (energy efficient data protocol and portal) consortium funded by the European Commission Horizon project, during the period 2018 – 2020. Currently Vincent is involved in setting up the Energy Efficient Mortgages hub – the Netherlands.

Barend van Drooge, CFA is associate director in the Credit & Insurance Linked Investments (CILI) team of PGGM, which has two dedicated mandates to invest in insurance linked investments and credit risk sharing transactions on behalf of PFZW, the pension fund for the Dutch health care sector. Within the team, Barend focuses primarily on credit risk sharing and is member of the team’s investment committees and regulations center. PGGM has invested in credit risk sharing transactions since 2006 and currently manages a portfolio of over € 5 billion. Before joining PGGM, Barend worked as a corporate and tax lawyer in Singapore.

Yuval is a senior Dutch RMBS analyst at Moody’s, based in Frankfurt. Prior to joining Moody’s he worked in the Structuring department of a Dutch bank.

David is a structured capital markets specialist covering a range of securitised and OTC derivatives and structured finance transactions. He has a particular focus on risk sharing and synthetic securitisation transactions and acts for a wide range of arrangers and investors in these products, including public sector and multilateral institutions. He has acted on risk sharing transactions across Europe, the US and Asia and also has extensive experience of credit, equity and fund-linked products.

Jacob joined the Public ABS of MUFG Securities in February 2022. He has over 20 years of securitisation experience across various asset classes in various European countries. He previously worked in Securitisation at ABN AMBRO, Rabobank and ING Germany.
