Aurélien Mali is currently Vice President Senior Credit Officer. He acts as the firm’s expert in Africa. His position is a combined lead analyst and analytical outreach/credit ambassador role. As a member of the Sovereign Risk Group since August 2002, he was involved in Moody’s sovereign ratings in Europe and the Middle East at the beginning of his career. Over the last 8 years, he has been at the forefront of Moody’s growing footprint in Africa. He has been sovereign lead or backup analyst for almost all sovereign issuers and multilateral development banks we rate in Africa. Aurelien was relocated to our Dubai office early 2013 from our London office. Aurelien manages a research programme that supports the development of Moody’s reputation for analytical insight and excellence. He also assumes a greater role in participating in regular Moody’s and third-party conferences on the continent, Africa-related investor briefings, and undertaking analytical outreach to inform and explain Moody’s credit judgments. Aurelien also supports other Moody’s franchises using his unique experience and visibility across multiple sectors and asset classes in the region. Finally, he remains the lead/backup sovereign analyst for few countries including Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola and South Africa. Aurélien holds a BSc in Economics and a postgraduate degree (DEA) in Money, Finance and Banking from the Panthéon-Sorbonne University in Paris.
Constantinos is a Senior Vice President and leads a team of analysts covering banks in Africa, the Middle East and the Balkans.
Since joining Moody’s Limassol-based banking team in 2005, Constantinos has followed banks as lead analyst in South Africa, Egypt, Ghana, Israel, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Montenegro, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. He has authored numerous articles covering the African and Balkan banking systems and is a regular speaker at regional conferences.
Prior to joining Moody’s, Constantinos worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in London, both in audit and advisory. He holds a BSs in Economics from Queen Mary, London University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Coziana Ciurea is responsible for the management and the delivery of country ESG analysis, data and solutions. Based in London, she oversees the analyst team in charge of delivering Sovereign ESG ratings and solutions for investors and sustainability profiles for Sovereign issuers. Coziana has over 13 years’ experience in the ESG space, having worked in country risk and business sustainability analysis across a broad range of product management, product development and analyst roles.
Before her career in ESG, she worked in public affairs with government agencies and the United Nations Development Programme in Eastern Europe. Coziana holds an MSc in European Politics from the London School of Economics, a postgraduate degree in European Studies from the University of Birmingham and MSc in International Trade from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies.
Julia Haake, a trained economist with a PhD from Versailles University in France, is Managing Director, Market Strategy at Moody’s ESG Solutions. She has joined Moody’s in December 2021, joining from ISS and formerly oekom research (acquired by ISS in 2018), where she was part of the ESG business unit’s leadership team and, over the last ten years, held various positions in business development, client coverage, stewardship and engagement. Julia has been working in Sustainability, CSR and ESG since 1993, when she started as a researcher, first at the German Wuppertal Institute and then at Versailles University in France, where she completed her PhD thesis in Environmental Economics. She later joined the French consulting firm O2 France as a consultant advising corporates on environmental and sustainability strategy and environmentally friendly product design. From 2003 to 2008 she contributed to building and rolling out the French postal operator Groupe La Poste’s CSR strategy, before joining the global environmental NGO WWF, where her role was to lead the Paris-based team in charge with managing corporate relations, sustainability partnerships and corporate fundraising.
In 2019, Julia has been elected member of the board of the French Sustainable Investment Forum (FIR) and appointed member of the French market regulator’s (Autorité des Marches Financiers) Sustainable Finance Commission. She is also co-author of the book "L'Entreprise Légère", written with Basile Gueorguievsky, published by Delachaux & Niestlé in 2010.
Kachi Nwanna is a Manager in the Outreach & Research department of Moody’s ESG Solutions Group. He is responsible for monitoring policy, regulatory, and other market developments to inform our understanding of the evolving sustainability landscape and drives our market-leading ESG research. Prior to this, Kachi spent 5 years at Vigeo Eiris – now part of Moody’s ESG Solutions – where he led an international team conducting ESG evaluations of large companies, and gained additional expertise in climate change, corporate governance, and biodiversity protection. He began his career by co-founding a strategy and brand development firm in Lagos, Nigeria. He is an electrical engineer who holds an MBA from the IPAG Business School, Paris and a Masters in Financial Engineering and Taxation from ESCP Business School Paris.
