Elena Nadtotchi Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance Moody's Investors Service

Elena Nadtotchi is a Vice President – Senior Credit Officer in Moody’s Oil and Gas Team and lead analyst on a portfolio of US investment-grade and high-yield companies in the exploration and production, midstream and refining sectors.

Before moving to New York in 2017, Elena spent 12 years in Moody’s London office as part of the Energy, Metals and Mining and Chemicals teams. The rated companies she covered included those in the European integrated oil and gas, global mining and EMEA chemical sectors, as well as the European nuclear energy sector. Her responsibilities in that time included acting as Moody’s global coordinator for the integrated oil and gas sector and for the chemicals sector. Elena was a co-author of Moody's Integrated Oil and Gas rating methodology in 2019 and was a co-author of earlier Chemicals and Metals and Mining industry methodologies in previous years. Elena is currently Moody’s global coordinator for oil and gas price assumptions and for North American oil and gas sector research.

Before joining Moody’s, Elena worked as a project finance and corporate banker for various international banks. She started her career at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London, where she originated financing for the roll out of telecom infrastructure in Central Europe, as well as infrastructure projects in EMEA. Elena holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, as well as MA in Economics and MSc degree in Investment Management.

Elena Duggar is Moody’s Chief Credit Officer for the Americas, and a Managing Director in the Credit Strategy & Research team. Elena is also the Chair of Moody’s Macroeconomic Board, which sets the global macroeconomic forecasts underpinning Moody’s universe of ratings.

 In her role leading the North and Latin America Credit Strategy & Research teams and the Global Macroeconomic Research team, Elena is responsible for forming house views on emerging risks, driving cross-functional alignment on key credit factors, coordinating rating approach across sectors in the Americas, and maintaining rigor in analytic frameworks. 

Elena leads major cross-sector outreach and research initiatives, such as Moody’s Global Credit Conditions Outlook, Global Macroeconomic Outlook, Debt after COVID and Global Trade Monitor, along with thematic research on macro, sovereign, demographics and financial risk topics. Elena represents Moody’s at the IIF Committee for Sovereign Risk Management and the IIF Principles Consultative Group for the Principles for Stable Capital Flows and Fair Debt Restructuring. 

Elena has served as Chair of Moody’s Macroeconomic Board since 2016 and prior to that served as Moody’s Group Credit Officer for Sovereign Risk, covering the global sovereign ratings portfolio. She is a globally-recognized expert on sovereign defaults and the author of market leading sovereign credit research, including Moody’s Sovereign Defaults series. For example, her research on the role of holdouts in sovereign debt restructurings was cited as expert evidence in the landmark 2015 US Supreme Court case on Argentina. Elena regularly represents Moody’s macro and credit views with external audiences, including senior policymakers, international organizations such as the UN, IMF and IIF, think tanks, academia, regulators and investors. Elena’s research is frequently cited in the WSJ, the FT, Bloomberg, Reuters and leading financial media. 

Elena joined Moody’s in 2007 and previously was an Economist at the IMF. She holds a B.A. in Economics from Bates College and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.

Madhavi Bokil Senior Vice President, Credit Strategy and Research Moody's Investors Service

Madhavi Bokil is a Senior Vice President, heading the Macro Research Team of the Credit Strategy and Standards Group. She is a member of Moody’s Macro Board and the lead author of Moody’s Global Macroeconomic Outlook.

Before joining Moody’s Investors Service Madhavi held positions as Senior Economist at AIG and GE Capital, undertaking global macroeconomic analysis, forecasting and CCAR stress testing. Prior to that she held a faculty position in the Department of Economics at Clark University, where she pursued research in and taught International Macroeconomics and Monetary Economics. She holds a BA in Economics from Fergusson College, Pune, India, a MA in Economics from the University of Mumbai, India and a PhD in International Economics from the University of California at Santa Cruz.

Claire Li Vice President - Senior Analyst, Credit Strategy and Research Moody's Investors Service

Claire Li is a Vice President within Moody’s Credit Strategy and Research Group. Based in New York, she frequently publishes macro and thematic research and undertakes macroeconomic analysis and forecasting for G20 economies to support Moody’s Macroeconomic Board. Claire contributes to Moody’s annual sovereign default research and analyzes sovereign debt default and restructurings.

Claire joined Moody’s in 2015. Claire holds a M.A. in Economics from New York University, a B.A. in Economics from Fudan University, China, and B.S. in International Economics and Business from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands
