Christian de Guzman is a Senior Vice President with Moody’s Sovereign and Sub-Sovereign Risk Group. Based in Singapore, he covers a portfolio of sovereigns and multilateral development banks in Asia Pacific, including Japan, India and a number of Southeast Asian credits, while also managing the team responsible for sub-sovereign ratings in Asia ex-China.
Christian joined Moody’s in 2009, after working as a Senior Economist for the Monetary Authority of Singapore, covering ASEAN economies. He has also held various positions with the Research Department at the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC, and Procter & Gamble in Singapore.
Christian was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate in Economics and Political Science at the University of Georgia and received his M.A. in International Economics and Southeast Asian Studies from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
Grace Lim is an Analyst with Moody’s Sovereign Risk Group. Based in Singapore, Grace covers a portfolio of sovereign credits and multilateral development banks in Asia Pacific.
Before joining Moody’s in 2021, Grace was a Senior Economist at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, where she led the economic analysis for the US, Eurozone and some ASEAN economies. Prior to that, Grace was a policy analyst in the central bank working on banking regulatory frame works.
Grace holds a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) in Mathematics and Economics from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
Somprawin Manprasert is First Executive Vice President, Chief Economist and Chief Strategy Officer at the Siam Commercial Bank PCL. He has extensive experience and expertise in in-depth macroeconomic and industrial research management, the driving force behind the Economic Intelligence Center's (EIC) mission to support Siam Commercial Bank's strategic plan “To Be a Better Bank” and to further sustain sustainable growth. On the strategic front, Somprawin is in charge of the Strategy Office to formulate and facilitate the execution of SCB’s strategic plans with aspiration to benefit the bank, customers, and the society as a whole.
Somprawin previously served as Chief Economist and Executive Vice President of the Bank of Ayudhya's Research Team and as Associate Dean and
Associate Professor of Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Economics. He has conducted research for government agencies such as the National Economic and Social Development Board, the Budget Bureau, and the Ministry of Commerce, among others, and has served as a speaker at seminars for the general public and organizations on a national and international level.
Somprawin earned a bachelor's degree from Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Economics, a master's degree from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom, and a doctorate degree from the University of Maryland at College Park in the United States of America.
Mr. Poonsit Wongthawatchai supervises the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Division, a division established in response to the rising global demand for ESG-focused corporate responsibility, where he takes a leading role in formulating significant ESG plans and integrating them into the Bank’s business strategies and processes, as well as banking product development and provision. Also, under his current roles, Poonsit oversees the Corporate Affairs Department, Investor Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility Department, and corporate translation services. His previous areas of professional experience include international affairs, economic research, as well as internal and external communications.
He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics from University of New Hampshire and an MBA from Columbia University (on the Bank of Thailand’s scholarship). He also received a Master of Philosophy in European Studies from Cambridge University.
Eugene Tarzimanov is a Senior Vice President in the Financial Institutions Group in Asia. Based in Singapore, he is the Lead Analyst for banks in Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Eugene is also responsible for coordinating banking research across Asia Pacific, and actively represents Moody’s to regulators, investors and the media on analytical and methodological views. Eugene moved to Singapore from Moody’s Moscow office, where he covered the largest banks in Russia, as well as financial institutions in Europe and the Middle East.
Before joining Moody’s in early 2009, Eugene held senior positions during his five years with Standard & Poor’s, where he was responsible for the analysis of banks in Europe and the Middle East. He has also worked at the CEO’s office of Bank VTB, where he was responsible for inhouse research.
Eugene holds an MBA in financial management from New York’s Pace University, and a BSc in international economics from Moscow’s Finance Academy.
Tengfu Li is an Assistant Vice President – Analyst with Moody’s Financial Institutions Group.
Based in Singapore, he is responsible for the credit ratings of financial institutions in Indonesia and Malaysia. Prior to Moody’s, Tengfu worked at OCBC Bank, where he developed credit risk models.
Tengfu holds a MSc in Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University, and a BEng in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore.
Clarabelle Tan is an Associate Analyst with Moody’s Financial Institutions Group. Based in Singapore, she is responsible for Moody’s portfolio of banks and non-bank financial institutions in Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Prior to joining Moody’s, Clarabelle was a Senior Associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers Singapore in the Financial Services Assurance team, covering clients in the asset wealth management, venture capital and banking industries.
Clarabelle holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honors), Accountancy from the National University of Singapore.
John Wang is a Vice President and Senior Analyst for Moody’s ESG, based in Singapore.
In his role, John is involved in integrating ESG into Moody’s credit rating research and is the point person for Moody’s ESG outreach in the Asia-Pacific region. He is also responsible for publishing thematic and issuer-specific research on ESG risks relevant to credit analysis.
Prior to joining Moody’s, John was CEO of Visiondom ESG, an independent ESG consultancy in China, which helped institutional investors integrate ESG into their investment process. He also worked as an ESG specialist with Fidelity International’s Asia Stewardship and Sustainable Investing team, focusing on the Greater China and Oceania markets for five years. At Fidelity, he was closely involved in promoting ESG best practices in Asia and ESG integration, and had a special focus on corporate governance and carbon trading.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Singapore Management University and is a CFA Charterholder.
Jeffrey Lee is Vice President and Regional Manager for Second Party Opinion (SPO) production for Asia Pacific with Moody’s Investors Service. Based in Singapore, Jeffrey oversees a team of analysts in HK, Singapore and Tokyo, who are in charge of producing SPOs and publication of thought leadership research related to APAC sustainable finance market. Jeffrey is a regular speaker and panelist at external conferences and other industry events in APAC. He also represents Moody’s on various high-profile industry working groups. Before his current role at Moody’s Investors Service, Jeffrey managed the team of SPO production analysts in APAC with Moody’s ESG Solutions.
Before his current capacity, Jeffrey worked in Moody’s Investor Services’ Financial Institutions Group. He joined Moody’s in 2013 as an Associate Analyst covering Korean financial institutions and served several roles within the group since then. Most recently, he was a Assistant Vice President – Analyst and part of the team responsible for portfolio of banks and non-bank financial institutions in South and South East Asia. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Vice President – Manager and led a team of associate analysts covering financial institutions in APAC.
Before joining Moody’s Jeffrey worked at Morgan Stanley’s Institutional Equity Division in South Korea, covering a portfolio of Korean clients. Jeffrey holds a BSc in Economics from Korea University.
Sim Hui Ting is an Assistant Vice President - Analyst with Moody’s Corporate Finance Group. Based in Singapore, she covers a portfolio of Southeast Asian oil and gas companies. Hui Ting joined Moody’s in 2017 as an Associate Analyst and previously covered a range of industries including metals & mining, as well as Singapore real estate investment trusts. Prior to joining Moody’s, Hui Ting worked in credit risk roles at Noble Resources International Pte Ltd and PetroChina International (Singapore) Pte Ltd. Hui Ting holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) from the National University of Singapore. She is also a CFA charter-holder.
