Ana Arsov Managing Director, Global Head of Private Credit & Global Financial Institutions Co-Head Moody’s Ratings

Ana Arsov is a Global Managing Director, co-heading of the banking rating franchise for Moody’s Investor Service which includes rating coverage for banks, securities firms, specialty finance and market infrastructure.

Ana joined Moody’s in 2013 with an extensive experience in analyzing financial institutions and managing credit professionals. Prior to joining Moody’s, Ana’s most recent role was at UBS, where she spent the last several years as Executive Director in Credit Risk, responsible for financial institutions including North American banks, broker dealers, exchanges and clearinghouses. Prior to UBS, she was Head of Global Portfolio Management-Credit Risk Management at Morgan Stanley, focusing on comprehensive coverage, identification and analysis of risks across the firm’s trading and lending businesses as well as leading key risk management initiatives for Morgan Stanley Bank N.A.

Ana began her career in Credit Risk Management at Lehman Brothers in various credit risk roles, ultimately heading up the North American Financial Institutions and Structured Finance team, and subsequently worked on Lehman’s bankruptcy resolution.

Ana holds a master’s degree in Management (with a specialization in Financial Services and Banking) from Boston University, and a bachelor’s degree in Business from Pace University, New York. Ana also holds certificate on board governance from Harvard Business School.

Andrea Usai Associate Managing Director, Business & Consumer Services, Corporate Finance Group Moody's Ratings

Andrea manages the Business & Consumer Services team within the North America Corporate Finance Group, where he oversees coverage of around 200 US investment and speculative grade issuers. 

Andrea joined Moody’s in 2011 and prior to his current role, he managed the North America Banks & Specialty Finance Team within the Financial Institutions Group for several years. Before moving to New York in 2018, Andrea was a lead analyst covering a portfolio of large European banks and securities firms domiciled in several European countries, both from London and Paris. In addition, he spent some time in Hong Kong where he supported local analysts on the coverage of banks and securities firms in the region. 

Prior to joining Moody’s, Andrea was a banking supervisor with the UK Financial Services Authority (FSA) for eight year. His experience at the UK financial regulator also included an industry secondment to Fidelity International in the UK, and an international secondment to the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel (ACP) Banque de France, the Paris-based French banking regulator. Andrea started his career at Banca Intesa in Italy where he worked as a private banker, as a corporate banker and he also worked as an analyst at Bloomberg Financial Markets in London. 

Andrea serves as the co-chair of the New York Pride Business Resources Group (BRG). He holds a degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Cagliari (Italy) and an MSc in International Banking and Finance from London Metropolitan University. He is a native Italian speaker and is fluent in English, French and Spanish.

Mark Wasden Senior Vice President, North America Finance Companies Moody's Ratings

Mark Wasden is a Senior Vice President in the Financial Institutions Group. Based in New York, Mark oversees the ratings of a portfolio of US commercial finance companies, including commercial aircraft leasing companies, business development companies (BDCs), non bank commercial real estate lenders, and equipment leasing companies.

Prior to joining Moody’s in 2004, Mark was a director in Bank One’s large corporate banking division in Chicago, where he covered finance companies as a senior underwriter. During his 15-year career in commercial banking, Mark held positions in relationship management, credit management, and professional development.

Mark holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Michigan anda Bachelor of Science in Economics from Brigham Young University

Christina Padgett Associate Managing Director, Corporate Finance Moody's Ratings

Christina Padgett is an Associate Managing Director in Moody’s Corporate Finance Group and leads the Leveraged Finance Research and Analytics team. She spends most of her time chairing speculative grade rating committees and producing credit research with a focus on the leveraged finance market and private equity.

Before joining Moody’s, Christina was a vice president at JPMorgan Chase in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group. Prior to her experience in investment banking, Christina finished the bank’s Credit Training program and worked in Europe Corporate Finance and Credit Audit. She received a Masters in International Political Economy from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs and a B.A. in History from William Smith College.

Thomas Aaron Vice President - Senior Credit Officer Moody's Investors Service

Tom is the dedicated public pension specialist for Moody’s Investors Service US Public Finance Group. He has held this role since 2013, in which he authors pension-related research and facilitates pension risk assessments across the group’s ratings. Tom originally joined Moody’s as a ratings analyst in 2011, where he covered local government credits throughout the Midwest. Prior to joining Moody’s, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff to a member of the San Diego City Council. Tom holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics (Actuarial Science) from DePaul University in Chicago and a Master of Arts in Economics from San Diego State University.

Shachar Gonen Vice President – Senior Credit Officer Moody's Investors Service

Shachar is responsible for the credit analysis and rating of a portfolio of US life insurance companies as well as structured insurance transactions. Previously, he was a member of Moody’s Structured Finance team evaluating and rating RMBS transactions as well as conducting financial and market analysis.

Prior to joining Moody’s in 2003, Shachar worked as an Associate at JPMorgan in the Technology Investment Banking Group, and also served in accounting and consulting roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Shachar holds a BS in Accounting from Binghamton University and an MBA in Finance from the NYU Stern School of Business. Shachar is a CFA charterholder and a CPA.

Rory Callagy Associate Managing Director, Financial Institutions Moody's Ratings

Rory is currently responsible for Moody’s Funds & Asset Management ratings practice in the Americas. This includes ratings on over 60 asset managers and 400 investment funds across 5 countries. He joined Moody’s Global Managed Investments Group in1998, working on analysis of investment funds. Rory regularly speaks at industry conferences on trends and developments in the asset management sector. He holds a BA in Government from Georgetown University

Neal Epstein, CFA Vice President - Senior Credit Officer, Financial Institutions Group Moody's Investors Service

Neal has over twenty years of experience workingwith asset management firms, as an investment banker, analyst, and portfoliomanager. He joined Moody’s Funds & Asset Management team in 2011, where hefocuses on credit analysis of asset management firms and industry research.Previously, he was a Managing Director at Proctor Investment Managers, aprivate equity investor in the asset management industry, where he led managerresearch and due diligence efforts. Earlier, Neal was a Vice President andDirector of Research at Putnam Lovell Securities, where he focused on assetmanager research and industry strategy. Mr. Epstein earned an M.B.A. and M.A.in Asian Studies from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration atthe University of Virginia, an M.A. in Economics from Columbia University and aB.A. in Philosophy from Swarthmore College. A Chartered Financial Analyst, heis a member of the CFA Society of New York and the CFA Institute.
